WowThankYou - my latest venture

I'm seriously in danger of becoming a cybernerd if I'm not careful. I've been tweeting away to build up some networking and publicity and I can see how easy it must be to fall into the trap of sleepless nights whiling away the hours obsessively scanning snippets of info. Must...talk...to...real...humans...

Gibside Market was a lovely day out last weekend but slow going on the sales front. Still, you don't know until you try so I'll keep plodding on.

Well what's been happening at Personal Space Interiors you ask? I'm just finishing off an assignment for my Diploma in Professional Interior Design today. Colour Theory - all very fascinating in a chemistry / physics / psychology kind of way. I've uploaded my new Toile de Jouy bedroom range to the website - see pic. And I'm about to open a new shop on the fabulous WowThankYou as recommended by lovely Ceri from Oakwood Soaperie (check out her shop on WowThank You - gorgeous goodies).

Happy crafting everyone! xx

Another day, hopefully another dollar...

Well, after all the rush to get ready for the vintage fair at the last minute I probably needn't have bothered. Sales were very slow - and I mean slow. I'm sure I spotted some tumbleweed at one point...Never mind, there's always next time.

Saturday 20th August I'll be setting up my first stall at Gibside Food and Craft Market which hopefully will prove to be more of a success as it's well established in the area. Gibside is a gorgeous National Trust estate near Rowlands Gill so you get to have the pleasure of a walk in the grounds as well as a bit of shopping so you can't go wrong.

I'm trying my hand at making greetings cards. I thought I'd be all clever and use a glue gun. Never again. Bring back PVA in a squeezy bottle - much less faff and clagg.

Calamity of all calamities!

In my feverish attempts to get all of my stock ready for Sunday I've broken my truty companion - the buttonhole chisel. I've decided that I have quite a knack for willing the wrong thing to happen at the wrong time. You know what I mean - "I'm really plaesed I've got this chisel, it makes life so much easier" cue the loud crack as it breaks, or "I can't believe I've had these gloves for so long, they really are my favourites" cue glove lost, or "This brolly was an excellent buy it's really sturdy" cue the gust of wind that blows it insideout never to be the same again...

Is sewing the new yoga?

Having spent several hours today measuring and cutting fabric for my last minute makes before Sunday's vintage fair, I have discovered a new form of exercise. Who needs yoga classes or those expensive wheely ab trainers when all you need to do is spread a huge piece of fabric over your living room floor and stretch out as far as you can with your trusty ruler and fabric shears.

I can honestly say I ache everywhere from the knees up. I must be getting old...

We shall go to the ball!

Well what do you know, I did manage to grab a spot at the vintage fair after all. Much frantic sewing going on to get ready in time and I've had sales online too so I'm all over the place at the moment. Exciting times though. I'd rather be busy than twiddling my creative thumbs.

Personal Space Interiors is open for business!

Hello and welcome to Personal Space Interiors. I'm Gillian, the owner and maker of all things sold on my site and other platforms like MISI, Etsy and Folksy. Check out my website www.personal-space-interiors.co.uk for details of my products.

I'll be selling at Gibside Food and Craft Market on Saturday 20th August so if you are local to the North East and fancy a day out, why not pop along? The market has a really friendly atmosphere with loads of lovely local produce and gifts for sale, there's a nice little coffee shop and of course you'll be in the gorgeous grounds of Gibside National Trust site so if the weather is kind to us all you can go for a relaxing walk and soak up the scenery.

I've just found out there will be a vintage clothing and gifts fair at the Royal Station Hotel in Newcastle this Sunday. I wish I'd known before - I've emailed the organiser to see of there's any room still available but I think I might have left it a bit late!
