Yes it's sofa shopping time again - CRAFTfest is open for business from now until 6th July.

There are gorgeous goodies galore with over 100 stalls showcasing everything from homewares to pet goods, bath & beauty to baby clothes. So while you're having your morning coffee, here's a peek at what's on offer from our lovely team leaders.

One week to closing - time to grab your place at CRAFTfest!

Just in case you've been hiding for a while and wondering what CRAFTfest is, here's a quick guide:

• CRAFTfest is a virtual craft fair hosted online at Creative Connections
• It's for crafters of all types, making and selling their own handcrafted goods
• The fair is online 24/7 from 29th June until 6th July
• Stalls cost just £5.00 for the whole week if you set up yourself. There are other options available if you would like us to set up for you.
• CRAFTfest is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work, with promotion activities taking place all week
• It's a great place to meet fellow crafters, share experiences and learn new skills.

Why not take the plunge and give it a go? You only need to have four items or more available to sell to take part so it's a great starting point if you've only just been bitten by the crafting bug. Roll up and book your Summer CRAFTfest stall

Here comes summer and here comes summer CRAFTfest!

There's still plenty of time to book a stall, and if you're pressed for time we now have different options available to suit your needs:

Option 1: - £5.00 for a standard stall for the week. You set this all up yourself with the support of your team leader and fellow crafters on the network

Option 2: £10.00 for a Creative Connections account set up and stall for the week. The stall will be set up empty for you to fill yourself with your items

Option 3: £45.00 for a Creative Connections account set up and stall for the week created for you with up to 15 items with full descriptions and links

Spring CRAFTfest closes...and back to work I go

Another week over and another CRAFTfest draws to a close. It's been another brilliant week with festers pooling resources to promote each other in all manner of social networking ways to make our event successful. Over the course of the week we had 3,899 brand new visitors viewing 31,315 pages of fantastic handcrafted goods by our stall holders. As always it's been hard work but a great buzz and most definitely worth it. Read more about CRAFTfest here

So back to the real world for while. What am I up to this week? I've been working on an order for a customer in the US who I have a sneaking suspicion is a bit of a fabric addict. She has provided me with some stunning prints to work with and I've loved working on this order for her as she's given me pretty much free rein to design and make pieces for her that compliment the fabric choices. I particularly love the rucksacks I've been making. Here's one hanging around waiting for the eyelets to finish the drawstring closure.

So well named this fabric "Happy Valley" with its cheerful colouyrway of greens and pinks and scenic print with nods to toile and willow pattern. I'll be finishing these off this week along with a throw, tote bags, cushions and some purses made with lovely vintage brass frames. Phew, such a lot to do!

Christmas CRAFTfest is a record breaker...

Booking for this year's Christmas CRAFtfest online craft fair closed on Wednesday. And this year, it's definitely going to be the biggest and best yet. We've broken our previous record and reached a monumental 250 stalls. So that's 250 shops for you all to visit from the comfort of your sofa!

Black Friday, what's that all about I hear you say...

A post Thanksgiving sales day originating in the US akin to our Boxing Day. The trend to have a pre-Christmas sale day is catching on here in the UK too so, not wanting to be left behind, we've decided at Creative Connections to get on board and have a CRAFTfest preview day on Black Friday. So we'll be opening our virtual doors for a whole nine days for CRAFTfest! Just think of all the lovely goodies just in time for Christmas...

Christmas CRAFTfest is just around the corner...

Walking through town the other day, I noticed that the Christmas trees and decorations are now out on display. Funny the affect this has on me - I somehow now feel justified in playing with felt and knitting little red and white stockings.

And with Christmas looming ever larger, it's time to get into gear again for the mega CRAFTfest event:

Yes CRAFTfest is here again, bigger and better than ever! There's still time to book a stall so why not dive in and have a go. For £5.00 per stall per category you can be part of our virtual market place, join in our fantastic crafting community, meet new friends online and learn loads of really useful stuff about promoting and selling online.

I'll be around as a team leader again this time, so if you sign up for a stall you might just be part of my purple group. We all help and support each other throughout the event and work together to promote all of our fabulous stalls. It really is a brilliant event and we all have such fun, and the odd sale too if we're lucky!

Christmas CRAFTfest 24th November - 1st December online 24/7

Goodbye September CRAFTfest...hello November!

Well that's another CRAFTfest over and out. And what a fantastic week we all had. We've been tweeting, facebooking, pinning, waneloing (is that a word?), pinspiring, blogging, stumbling, digging, deliciousing (another iffy verb there) and everything else we could possible think of to get as many people to visit as possible. And the result...

56,234 visitors!

 

 

What a fantastic achievement for everyone involved. I really enjoyed taking part in the June event - so much so that I became a group leader for September. It allowed me to iundulge my love of spreadsheets (yes, really) and do something that required planning and organising which I hadn't really done since leaving my previous job 12 months ago. I just can't help it, I do love lists and data. So being an organiser for CRAFTfest gives me the best of both worlds: I get to be a techy geek and a creative crafter too. It'll be time for the November event before we know it...

 

 

 

 

 

So what happens next? Fingers crossed we keep up the brilliant networking momentum, not to the crazy intense level of the last week, but just to make sure we keep ourselves visible. And now of course we can kick back and relax a little and maybe even do some crafting. If only I could find a way to detach myself from this laptop for long enough!

Created in Cloth - Cards

At Created In Cloth you will find two types of cards. The traditonal cards come with an envelope and are made from card with a cloth embroidered picture. The PostCards are again made from Cloth with a stiffened middle layer so they look just like a traditonal postcard. These are quite the rage in sewing swaps in America. They go through the post with a self-adhesive stamp - just write the address and message in ballpoint pen and pop into the post.

I started my jewellery making journey about two years ago. I am self taught and i learn techniques from studying from books, video, and DVDs. I have also attended a few classes where i have perfected my jewellery making skill.My jewellery are costume jewellery made from gemstone, resin, and metal beads.
